We have been using emerging technologies throughout our 15+ year history, from a Gigapan ultra high resolution image taken from the Tate Modern to hide the last words of Stephen King’s novel Under the Dome, to augmented reality Smurfs hiding in mushroom houses in gardens across the nation, to full-on mixed reality zombie encounters for Resident Evil.
Crucially, however, the technology is always embedded in both the experience and the contextual narrative. So in our immersive XR horror experience at the Vault Festival, the VR headset was the torture device used by the corrupt Foundation. In our launch of the first TomTom standalone Smartwatch, the device was used to track people’s heartrates throughout the launch to reveal their spikes of excitement through a graphical readout at the end.
We also remain human-first, though using AI and technological platforms to reflect back on ourselves.
